RE Withdrawl

Dear parents and carers,

Religious Education (RE): the right to withdraw

At Red Row Primary, RE is part of our curriculum. Pupils learn about a range of religious and non-religious worldviews, helping them to understand different beliefs and ways of life.

Parents and carers have the right to request that their child is withdrawn from all or part of RE. You do not have to give a reason. If you are considering this, please write to me, explaining which lessons or parts of the RE curriculum you wish your child to miss. I will arrange a time to discuss your request and how your child will be supervised during those lessons.

If you withdraw your child, you are responsible for arranging suitable alternative provision for them during that time. The school is not required to provide alternative religious education.

If you have questions about what is taught in RE, please contact the school before making a decision. We are happy to explain the curriculum and answer any queries.

Yours sincerely,
Richard Bollands
Headteacher
Red Row Primary
