Behaviour and Attitudes

Behaviour and attitudes at Red Row Primary

At Red Row, we want every pupil to feel safe, valued and ready to learn. We know that children learn best when they feel they belong and when the adults around them build positive, respectful relationships.

Our expectations are summed up in three school rules:

  • Be Responsible – take responsibility for your actions and words, and think about how they affect others.
  • Be Ready – be prepared to learn, listen to others and do your best.
  • Be Safe – help keep yourself and others safe, physically and emotionally.

We teach these expectations explicitly and reinforce them through consistent routines, positive recognition and supportive conversations. When things go wrong, we help pupils understand what has happened, consider its impact and work towards putting things right. We also recognise that some pupils need additional help to manage their feelings or behaviour. We work with pupils and families to understand what is behind a difficulty and provide support while maintaining clear, fair expectations for everyone.

Our Thrive approach helps us attend to pupils’ emotional and social development, so that they can build relationships, confidence and independence. We expect all members of our school community—pupils, staff and families—to treat one another with respect and to contribute to a welcoming, safe environment where everyone can learn and succeed.
