Key Stage One

Welcome to Year 1 and 2!

Miss Robinson & Mrs Walton are delighted to share with you some of the fantastic learning that goes on in our Key Stage One department.
THE SOLAR SYSTEM

A big thank you to Naz from Kielder Observatory who visited Key Stage 1 to teach the children about the solar system.
ROLE PLAY

Year 1 love developing their imagination and story telling skills through the role play area and dressing up.
REMEMBRANCE DAY CRAFTS

There’s been some beautiful remembrance day art produced across Key Stage 1 this week.

Year 2 created these wonderful collages using newspaper and tissue paper. We think they’re really effective!

Year 1 got sticky and crafted these fabulous candle holders with tissue paper and (a lot of) PVA glue. We love the colours they make!

STORY MAPS

Year 2 have been creating story maps this week.  This is a very important step in writing to ensure they commit their story to memory before writing it down.

MATHS

Some more fabulous maths to share with you from Year Two today! They’ve moved on to estimating the position of numbers on a number line. Well done everyone!
